Autumn 1946 was the period when Syrian airlines came into existence and from then, it is successfully providing its services to various nations. Two propellers were first of all started by the company between Deir ez – Zour, Al –Qameshi, Aleppo and Damascus. No doubt, this airline has faced many hardships and troubles. But after defeating all of them, it has reached the pioneers of success.
This airline faced financial difficulties in 1948 and suffered from the suspension in services. However, with the proper government support, it again stood up and started working again in 1951.

The recently formed Syrian Arab airlines also took over the routes which were previously governed by united Arab airlines and Syrian airways. The beginning of Syrian Arab airlines began with three Douglas DC-3s, three Douglas DC-6 and two Douglas DC-4 through which he had served both the international and national routes of the east. Since then, these airlines are continuously evolving, growing and developing themselves. They are continuously climbing the ladders of success and had left the benchmark of its own in this field. Syrian air also has codeshare agreements with various airlines. They include royal Jordanian, Cyprus airways, Yemenia, Saudi Arabian airlines, Tarom, Malev Hungarian airlines.
